Some superb autumn weather made the long trip to Harlech worthwhile but it was a day of mixed fortunes for the crews but never the less provided us with some great action. Rhys Jones co driver was involved in a road accident on the way to the event and we wish Gareth a speedy recovery. This left Rhys without a co driver but luckily Paul Wild was able to step in a the last minute to enable Rhys to take part. Charlie Mathewson made his intentions clear from the off and set fastest time onstage one, this was to be followed by a further four fastest times through the day. Despite Rhys Jones new pairing with Paul they were on it from the start and only three seconds behind Charlie and Ian. Oliver Waggett made up the top three after SS1 and it was going to be pretty much the order of the day. That was until Rhys bad luck struck again with a gearbox issue on SS2. They managed to limp through the stage but dropped time and were forced to make a gearbox change. Jack Birch and Mike Jode ran wide coming out of a chicane on SS1 and the very very wet and muddy infield saw the Micra stranded, only feet from the stage but unable to get the car back on. This meant a maximum for them and ended the chance of a good result. The remainder of the top five after SS1 was made up of Micras with Riley Chesters and George Fenner-Liato showing that there’s still fire in the old Micras. Josh Slaughter was in 6th and would climb as high as third before a brake issue caused him to clip a kerb and resulted in a broken drive shaft. Fortunately it was just before the finish and the crew were able to push the car over the line. Lewis Arnold, Tom Marriott and Florence Butler were hot on the heels and then came Llago Edwards on his first event and what an event it was as he continued to climb the leader board as the day went on. Kyle Green on only his second event in great looking Citigo was pushing on getting quicker as the day wore on. Lady luck dealt Rhys a second blow on SS4 when a mistake at the split forced the crew to do an extra and quite long lap, their pace however was such that they still beat the stage bogey time, impressive. George Fenner-Leitao had an issue in the afternoon which dropped him down the leader board. Lewis Arnold and Tom Marriott continued their battle and as the good weather graced us for the afternoon the issues settled down but the pace did not. Harlech is a great event and the pace is always hot but the standards of driving were treated to was superb. The commitment from all was impressive but with a few drivers trying to make back lost time we were treated to some of the best Junior driving I have seen.

In the end it was Charlie Mathewson that took the first place from Oliver Waggett with Riley Chesters taking the third place with a very impressive drive in the MIcra. Despite his issues Josh Slaughter took fifth having clawed time back through the afternoon. Fifth place went to Llago Edwards in only his first event. Tom Marriott took sixth from Rhys Jones who despite his bad look managed to climb back to seventh and is still second in the championship .Lewis Arnold, Kyle |Green and George Fenner-Leitao took the next places ahead of Florence Butler and Jack Birch who was really unlucky to not only suffer the mud but also a drive shaft failure later in the day.

A day some will want to forget but once again all of out crews finished, not where they have wanted to be but finished non the less.
Interestingly all our Junior crews beat everyone in the senior event and that is an achievement for you all to be proud of.

With dropped scores to come into play, three events left and jokers not yet played its not all over by any means and as always it looks likely it will go down to the last event in November.
