The 2025 rally season roared into action yesterday at the Snetterton Stages, bringing fresh challenges, new cars, striking liveries, and enthusiastic crews eager to make their mark. With fourteen junior teams on the starting line — including some exciting new faces — the stage was set for an unforgettable day.

The morning stages proved treacherously slippery, catching out most crews at one point or another. But in true junior rally spirit, they picked themselves up and powered on.

Among the returning teams, we were delighted to welcome four debutants: Jack Robinson, Rebecca Challis, Ioan Thomas, and Aiden Corner. These newcomers faced a true baptism of fire, taking on demanding nine-mile stages with determination and grit.

A Fierce Battle at the Top

Mackenzie Snowden and Jonathan Turnbull seized an early lead and held onto it throughout the event, despite being pushed hard in the opening stages by Henri Cynwyl and Iago Edwards.

The battle for second place was thrilling, with Henri and Iago trading times as the day progressed. Heading into the sixth and final stage — a challenging run in the dark — just one second separated the two.

Iago Edwards delivered a stellar performance, edging out Henri Cynwyl to secure second place, with Mackenzie Snowden clinching a well-deserved victory and Henri taking third.

A Day of Triumph and Camaraderie

Despite the tough conditions, all crews crossed the finish line with smiles on their faces, having tackled the challenges head-on. The event was a testament to the talent, resilience, and sportsmanship that define junior rally motorsport.

The Snetterton Stages not only delivered thrilling action but also saw new friendships forged among the drivers — the perfect start to what promises to be an exciting season.
